In getting what we want, the greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high, and we miss it but that our aim is too low, and we reach it. More often, we are scared to fail so we settle for less. While it is only human to dread change and to fear the unknown, we need to welcome the change, stick to our goals and don’t give up. I have learned early in life to aim high, as high as I could; believing that if I aim for the star, even if I fail, I still land on the moon. Winners are losers who get up and keep on trying.

Always concentrate on how far you have come, rather than how far you have left to go. The difference in how easy it seems will amaze you. Heidi Johnson

It is also true that many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up. Our lives improve only when we take chances and persevere and the first and most difficult risk we can take is to be honest with ourselves. Here are some inspiring words of wisdom inspired by the writings of Ralph Marston.
We can achieve the goals we have set for ourselves even though the obstacles are many. Yes we can. We can get back up and make another effort, as many times as necessary, until we’ve successfully reached the place we intend to go. Yes, we most certainly can.

The first step toward getting somewhere is to decide that you are not going to stay where you are. Unknown

Yes we can remain calm and focused when the world around us swirls with noisy confusion. Yes we can move positively forward each day even though events and circumstances seem to constantly act against us.

Yes we can do all these things and more. If one path is blocked, there are plenty of others. When we are willing, there is a way. When we are committed to reaching the results we desire, yes we can find that way and follow it. Whatever life may ask of us, the answer is always yes, when we decide to make it so. It is a choice, our choice.

Don’t wait for some distant day to come, it may be too late before you’ve even begun. Not everyone will agree with all you decide. First and foremost, be true to yourself. Realize that the only important thing in life is what you do with the time you spend here on earth.–Unknown
